Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 14, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how Visual Finances ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you visit visualfinances.com (the "Site"). Please read it carefully. By using the Site you agree to the practices described here.
1. Information we collect
Information you provide directly
Visual Finances does not require an account and does not accept user-uploaded content. Calculator inputs you enter are processed entirely in your browser and are never transmitted to our servers. If you share a calculator result via a URL, the inputs are encoded in the URL itself — they are not stored by us.
If you contact us by email, we receive the contents of that email, including any personal information you choose to include.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, our third-party analytics and advertising partners automatically collect certain technical information when you visit the Site. This may include:
- Your IP address (typically truncated or anonymized by our partners)
- Browser type and version
- Operating system
- Referring URL and pages visited
- Date and time of your visit
- Device type and screen resolution
We do not collect this information directly — it is collected by Google Analytics and Google AdSense on our behalf, as described below.
2. Cookies and similar technologies
The Site uses cookies and similar tracking technologies through our third-party service providers. We do not set first-party analytics or advertising cookies ourselves.
Analytics cookies are set by Google Analytics 4 to help us understand aggregate traffic patterns — which pages are visited, how long visitors stay, and how users navigate between pages. No calculator inputs are included in this data.
Advertising cookies are set by Google AdSense to serve relevant display ads and measure their performance. Google may use this data to personalize ads based on your browsing history across other sites. Where required by applicable law (including in the EEA, UK, and California), Google Funding Choices manages consent before advertising cookies are set.
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may affect the display of ads and our ability to understand how the Site is used, but will not affect the functionality of any calculator.
3. How we use information
We use the information collected to:
- Understand how visitors use the Site so we can improve it
- Serve and measure display advertising that helps fund the Site
- Respond to emails and other communications you send us
- Monitor for security issues, errors, and abuse
4. Third-party services
We use the following third-party services, each governed by its own privacy policy:
- Google Analytics 4 — aggregate traffic analytics. Data is processed in accordance with Google's Privacy Policy. You can opt out using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
- Google AdSense — display advertising. Ads may be personalized based on your interests as inferred from your browsing history. You can review and manage your ad personalization settings at adssettings.google.com.
- Cloudflare Pages — website hosting. Cloudflare may process request metadata (IP addresses, headers) for security and performance purposes. See Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.
5. Data sharing and disclosure
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share personal data with third parties except as described in Section 4 (our service providers), or when required to do so by law, court order, or other legal process.
6. Data retention
We do not store personal data on our own servers. Data collected by Google Analytics is retained for 14 months by default before automatic deletion, consistent with Google's standard retention settings. Data held by Google AdSense is subject to Google's own retention policies. Email correspondence is retained for as long as necessary to respond to your inquiry.
7. Your rights
Residents of the European Economic Area and UK (GDPR)
If you are located in the EEA or UK, you have rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) or UK GDPR, including the right to access, correct, or erase personal data held about you; to restrict or object to its processing; and to data portability. Because we do not directly store personal data, most of these rights must be exercised directly with our third-party service providers (Google, Cloudflare). To the extent we hold any personal data (e.g., email correspondence), contact us at the address below to exercise these rights.
California residents (CCPA / CPRA)
California residents have the right to know what personal information is collected about them, the right to delete personal information, the right to opt out of the sale of personal information (we do not sell personal information), and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. To submit a request, contact us by email at the address below.
8. Children's privacy
The Site is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
9. Links to other websites
The Site may contain links to external websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those sites and encourage you to review their privacy policies before providing any personal information.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically. Continued use of the Site after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
11. Contact us
If you have questions about this Privacy Policy or wish to exercise your data rights, please email us at admin@visualfinances.com.
